we laughed, shook hands and hugged. and though this was the first time meeting in person, for the past few weeks, i had been in covert conversation with wes about planning a surprise photo shoot for him & his beautiful wife tera. tera & wes are a remarkable husband-and-wife photographer team straight from the heart of the south. and after spending just the first few minutes together, walking & talking, i felt like i had brought just a little bit of alabama sunshine into my hood… and my hood was all the better for it.

with the timeless value photo creates by marking the intricicies of our stories, and as professional photographers themselves, tera & wes make it a point to have their photo taken at least once a year by another professional. to say the invitation was an honor is an understatement. but, when wes & i got the chance to chat for the first time, and he mentioned that tera had been following our blog for quite some time, i had to double-check and make sure he called the right number… and then i thankfully accepted the opportunity.

so, when they rolled up in their rental car, and i finally had the chance to meet these two, with a bit of trepedation [they are professionals after all] and a bit of excitement, we got our shoot on.
