Marking Milestones – Our Family Photo Shoot

with summer coming to a close and with carlie’s belly growing to capacity, all things are pointing to the near-arrival of our baby girl. needless to say, we couldn’t be more excited.

and with each milestone big & small, from our engagement, to joining our bank accounts, to bringing lincoln home from the hospital, the heart of our family has grown. and being storytellers at heart, we felt we owed it to ourselves and to the spirit of our family, to document this fleeting season.

so, we called katie.

katie is a caring friend and an equally talented photographer, and we were thrilled when she honored our request to take some photos with the 3 [and a half] of us.

Our New Website Unveiled – Design By Promise Tangeman

it takes time. no… it takes knowing yourself and THAT takes time.

it’s been over four years now since carlie and i officially started our business as wedding photographers and if the journey could be characterized briefly it could be said that our journey has been both outward and inward. we have gotten to know others and we have gotten to know [more clearly] ourselves.

so if you are looking at taking on the daunting project of “branding” [emphasis on the quotations], i feel you. it is exciting, scary, thrilling and confusing. i mean, what does “working on my branding” even mean?

i’d suggest that it’s a lot more than a website. but, like our AH-MAZING designer & friend promise tangeman teaches, your website is the core of your brand, so you can’t go wrong to start there.

so… with countless emails, inspirational clippings and well-intentioned fights behind us… amidst stupid bugs, wonky content transfers and some tedious heavy lifting… and the result of lots of communication, a designer that really gets us, and an intentional focus… we couldn’t be happier to share the byproduct – our new website.

it is one step closer on a journey we are still in the middle of, a journey where we get to know ourselves better by getting to know people like you. check it out and tell us what you think.

A Wedding At The Bel Air Bay Club – Lindsey and Aaron

you would think it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.

a boy from chicago and a girl from florida, both transplants that made their home in los angeles… population nearing 10 million. but, if you ever get the chance to meet lindsey & aaron, you might say it was inevitable.

they are perfect for each other.

and more than that, they are gracious & caring people. lindsey & aaron’s wedding was full of personality and trimmed with class, from the orange accents echoing lindsey’s roots to the people both lindsey and aaron chose to stand by their side on the big day.

oh yeah… and don’t let me forget… they hooked us up with filet & lobster vendor meals! that’s right… totally awesome!!

lindsey & aaron… thank YOU!  you are both a blessing to know and we couldn’t be happier to have been but a small part.

















this wedding was off the charts, and much because of the remarkable team of vendors we had at our side, including the artful nicole deanne, the uber-talented film makers from shark pig, the ah-mazing carissa from jl designs, the whole team at the bel air bay club, the super saucy and super sweet melody of my sweet and saucy, and of course jesi haack and her incredible team who saw the whole event off with style from the getting ready to the grand exit.
