he was the computer guy. she was the student teacher.

and when ryan stepped into lauren’s class for the first time, his attention quickly changed focus from repairing permissions and updating software, to the young lady at the front of the class… lauren.

after that first interaction… without words and in the middle of work… ryan quickly made sure to reconnect with this mysterious student teacher and sure enough, she was intereted in him. it’s hard to find two people more in love; more willing to sacrifice for the other.

their character alone makes me so thrilled to be even a small part of lauren and ryan’s story. and to make it even better, lauren is no stranger. carlie & i actually first met lauren back in 2008 when we photographed her friend kacie’s wedding in napa valley… and then again this past summer when we photographed another of lauren’s friend’s, chrisy’s wedding. so, i am of course ecstatic to return to northern california for lauren and ryan’s wedding this summer in napa.

we’ve all heard them say… whoever they are… what happens in vegas, stays in vegas.

for stephanie and rusty, they were wrong.

what happened in vegas sparked the beginning of a lifelong relationship mixed with a little bit of passion & a lot of love. thanks to fate, stephanie, crusing with her girls, and rusty, hanging with his guys, happened to cross paths on the strip and in spite of sounding cliche… the rest is history.

from the first moment i met up with stephanie and rusty and heard their story, i was hooked and couldn’t wait to get to know them even better. they are exciting people. they are full of life and adventure. not to mention, their engagement shoot was the first time in almost 5 years as a professional photographer, that i’ve been stopped by the authorities. yes, the man tried to keep us down, but we kept on rolling and had a great time together, cruising the more industrial parts of southern california.

their big day is just around the corner, and i’m sure it will be a hit, especially considering the team over at simply modern weddings will be at the helm. for now, enjoy the photos and know that no officers were harmed in the making of these images
